VPEF Challenges Local Groups to Raise Funds for Schools

Whether you are a serious runner or a leisurely walker, all are welcome at the 7th Annual Loop the Lagoon 5k and 10k event, to be held May 1 at Lagoon Valley Park.
The Vacaville Public Education Foundation (VPEF) will again host this run/walk event for participants of all ages, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds from the day’s events will be used by VPEF to continue important programs benefitting all students of the Vacaville Unified School District (VUSD). Over the years, Loop the Lagoon has become a popular way for serious runners as well as local residents to join in a healthy activity that benefits a worthy cause. Read more…

VPEF’s Mini Grants 2009

The VACAVILLE PUBLIC EDUCATION FOUNDATION (VPEF)’s Board of Directors wishes to thank all those Vacaville Unified School District teachers who took advantage of VPEF’s 2008-2009 round of mini-grants to introduce their students to the many adventures that can be had on field trips. VPEF awarded grants for field trip travel expenses to a total of 28 classes from 15 schools throughout the VUSD during this school year. Read more…

Education Foundation Earns Tax-Exempt Status

Looking for a tax deduction? You might consider making a donation to the Vacaville Public Education Foundation (VPEF)

VPEF, which last year incorporated as a California public benefit corporation, recently received 501c3 tax-exempt status from the IRS and the State of California. This means donations to VPEF are deductible from state and federal income tax (unless the donor receives a benefit in return, such as a dinner at the VPEF Halloween Ball), according to Carl Debevec, VPEF board member and attorney-at-law. VPEF Appoints New Board Members

The Vacaville Public Education Foundation recently appointed five new members to its board of directors. “These new directors bring a fresh perspective to the board, and we see many opportunities for them to contribute,” noted Board President Catherine Podkin.
